Psychics against Doctrine

No Comments 16 September 2011

Tarot cards, position of starts and planets, palm reading and crystal balls are usually what is seen and done in fortunetelling and the person who does the prediction is known as a psychic. These instruments are somehow unrelated to psychics because the word psychic comes from a Greek word meaning mental or mind which means that the only instrument a real psychic could use is his mind.

Psychics are those people who can see things that others cannot. Through their extrasensory perception, sometimes called ESP, they will be able to predict the future. Not only that but they are also said to possess the power of telekinesis which enables them to read minds. Critics insist that without scientific evidence, this is still considered as fraud and unbelievable. People seem to think that psychics are just people who are looking for attention and do not have any religious faith. That is usually why psychics are discriminated.

But in the community today, psychics are accepted by common people and many of them still believe in their psychic readings. Many people practice it once in a while but does believing in psychics defy religion. What do you think when have come to know that there are Christian psychic readers? Isn’t it ironic? People say that there are no psychics since this against their doctrine specially Christians. And some always say that psychics are frauds and liars because after years of study there is still no evidence of such phenomena but those who are patrons of fortunetelling are convinced that there are psychics.

In the medieval times, people seem to think that unexplainable things such as psychic powers are considered as the work of the devil. In Europe back in the ages, people believe in magic, witchcraft and wizardry, and people seem to think that this is an act of dark magic from the power of demons and devils. All of those convicted to be witches and wizards are killed usually through burning on stakes and drowning. These events in the past, influenced the thinking of people that psychic have no religious faith.

But people probably ask themselves; is this true? What about the prophets and apostles? Aren’t they also fortunetellers and miracle-workers? They somehow predicted the future and did many unexplainable things. But they are enlightened by God and people believe them because of what they saw and experienced. One could think that prophets could be psychics in their time. Believing in psychics is not against religion if you look in different angles.

Being a psychic does not only mean one can predict the future and do telekinesis, but can also see ghosts and experience paranormal activities and supernatural phenomena. One could think that there are no real psychics because of not being able to see what a psychic sees and most likely those who pretend to be psychics use instruments that are somehow very unlikely used by pious people which are prejudiced by many in Christian communities. Because of this, they are labeled by religious sects as frauds and untrue psychics.

Christian Psychic Readings Explained

Christian Psychic Readings Explained

No Comments 01 September 2011

Christian psychic readers are people who find it difficult to fit in. This is because Christians, by nature, are people who do not believe in psychics. But we should look at it this way: some people are born with blue eyes, some with brown eyes, and they cannot do a thing about it; some are born brunettes, some as blondes, again, they can’t do a thing about it; Christian psychic readers are people born with the gift only accorded to a few, and they, too, can’t do anything about it.

So, if you happen to be able to see the future, know what’s going on on the far side of the world, or talk to the dead for that matter; and at the same time believe in Jesus Christ as one’s saviour, will you not be called as a Christian psychic reader?

Because the different Christian churches teaches that psychic readers actually get their information from the devil and not from any other means, some believers leave the churches to follow what they believe has more authority.

Besides, many argue, especially some new-age churches, that the teachings of the bible are not entirely that accurate. They say that although the bible is without doubt God’s words, it has been written and edited by man. As such, it contains many mistakes, untruths, and biases. This gives them the conviction that they need a better and more updated authority when it comes to the real Christian faith.

So are Christian psychic readers real? Some are, actually. Others only pretend to have the gift in order to deceive you. But as to the question of their legitimacy, they are, without question, as real as you and I are real.

One should not feel guilty in seeking the guidance of a Christian psychic reader. It is not true that God will abandon you if you seek a psychic’s advice. Who are the churches to say what God really wants?

We all know that God wants all of us to be happy. Christian psychic readers are given their gifts precisely because God wants us to correct a grim future, prevent pain, and experience happiness. If the psychic intends you to be happy, then how can it come from the devil?

God gave you the wisdom, the intellect, and the instinct to distinguish the real from the fake. Genuine Christian psychic readers are compassionate and honest psychics. In other words, they will sincerely help you. But, at the same time, there are also a lot of fakes. In fact, the fakes outnumber the real ones, so you have to be extra careful.

Honest psychics will not rob you of your money. Instead, they will make the pay worth it. They will not really divulge to you your future. What they will do is guide you in making a destiny map. This map is about your plan on how to arrive to your destiny. Sometimes, we are taking more difficult paths when there are easy and light paths available. The psychic will help you find where that road is.

So, is there anything unchristian about it?

Why Christian Psychic Reading Is Not Good

Why Christian Psychic Reading Is Not Good

Christian psychic readings have grown extremely popular all over the world. There are many reasons that could sufficiently explain this trend. For one, Pope Benedict XVI has declared this period as a period of Relativism. In other words, people believe in almost everything today. At the same rate, they can and will easily deny it as quickly. For example, people seem to be excited about their star signs or horoscopes. Now more than ever, they are convinced that somehow their lives are connected to the stars. At the same time, the same group of people will believe that they are bound to no particular destiny, that they can make their own right and wrong.

These same people can also belief in the supernatural, but not believe in a singular god. They believe in spirits, but not believe that these spirits are bound by laws. Rather, they believe that spirits experience absolute freedom and extreme bliss. This is why they also adhere to psychic readings. If they exist, it is only just and logical that we try to communicate with them so that they might share their new wisdom.

The sad thing is that even Christians also believe in these things. The church, naturally, believe in spirits. However, the Christian faith says that spirits are not as free as what others claim. Spirits, Christians believe, are all under God’s wings. In other words, they do not roam as freely as others imagine.

As such, Christian adherents are not supposed to believe or idolize Christian psychic readings since this is an absolute abomination of their faith. But they have somehow created an imaginary and personalized connection between their faith and that of the Christian psychic readings. In other words, they believe and follow something contrary to the teaching of their church, and at the same time feel like true Christians. They go to church, do their rituals as required by the church, but when they go out, they follow a completely different faith.

Believing in Christian psychic readings is wrong, in any way you look at it. The Christian doctrine says that the spirits of the dead do not just float around, instead, they go to a place where they await to be judged. If this is the case, why, then, can they be talked with? There is no logic in talking with them, and there is just no reason for them to talk to us.

Furthermore, we must not violate nature. To try to experiment with what the church says is wrong must be avoided at all times. People must understand that there are absolute truths. These are truths that remain as they are no matter where you are or when you are. To break these absolute truths will bring about dire consequences that we can hardly imagine.

Experimenting on Christian psychic readings is like what Adam and Eve did: they were told not to eat the forbidden fruit, but they, with the encouragement of the devil, ate it anyway. This incident, we all know, became the root of all tribulations that mankind have experienced.

Psychic Readings: Taking on Science and the Church

Psychic Readings: Taking on Science and the Church

No Comments 02 August 2011

Christian psychic readings have always been popular. Although they come from a religion which forbids such acts, they have always maintained followers that continue to believe what the psychics say.

Why do they remain popular despite the strong and outspoken opposition of the Roman Catholic Church? Even with we eliminate this factor, we still have another big question: Why do they remain famous today when Science is now at its peak?

Let us tackle the first question. The Roman Catholic Church headquartered in the Vatican City is largely and entirely against Christian psychic readings. For the Church, psychic readings are un-Christian. To elaborate, the Roman Catholic doctrine dictates that when a human being dies, the soul goes out and becomes inanimate. In other words, it becomes lifeless, emotionless. This is the state of the soul until the judgement time. Once the heavens have decided the fate of the soul based on his actions while he was still physically alive, the soul can go to hell, purgatory, or to paradise. Therefore, the Church says, talking to them is just impossible; although they add that if done so under God’s permission, such event is indeed possible. But this is very rare, if at all.

So, if talking to the soul of the departed is impossible, who, then, are the psychics contacting in Christian psychic readings? The church strongly says that it is the demon at work. Demons, they claim, are able to take on many forms. They can be animals, pets, even loved ones. They do so in order to fool you into doing what the church forbids, and, thus, you condemn your soul unconsciously.

Let us now take a look at the second issue against Christian psychic readings: Science. Well, Science and religion are opposites: they are the North and the South Pole. Scientific communities laugh at the idea of the soul. For them, there is no soul, there is no Creation, there is no Paradise. When a person dies, that’s the end of it for the person. For them, your soul is your legacy to the world. It’s nothing living, or spiritual. For them, Christian psychic readings are nothing more than a big sham designed to prey on the naiveté of the people.

Scientists have, for a long time, tried to unlock the secrets of Christian psychic readings. All of those studies resulted in negatives, unfortunately. The advancement in technology has limited the chances of mistake in any study; thus, scientific authorities are convinced that there is no spirit, there is no soul, and there is no God. Hence, there are no psychic readings.

Those psychics are people who want to take advantage and make money out of the bonds and spiritual beliefs of some people.

Ultimately, the final question is why some of us remain faithful to psychic readings despite the opposition of the two contradicting ideals.

Whatever the answers might be, one thing is certain: for as long as we live, and for as long as we feel, humanity will always believe in psychics.
